Show Easy to Wash Finest of Fabrics, Using Car Many of the attractive rayon fabrics fab-rics on the market nowadays ar washable, with care; handle them Just as you would dainty silks. To be safe, lest new colored garments gar-ments before washing, by squeezing n sample or Inconspicuous portion of the material In clear, lukewarm water wa-ter for five minutes or so. Also test colored trimmings. Remove buttons, buckles, etc., which might be unwashable, and mend any boles, especially In knitted garments. Many of the crepey, and novelty rayons tend to shrink when wet, but can usually be restored to size a they dry and are Ironed. So It I well to measure them before wetting. Always use mild, neutral soap flakes when washing rayons and other fine fabrics. Make rich lukewarm luke-warm or cool suds with mild soap flakes. Put In the garment and wash quickly by squeezing the sud through the material. Don't let colored col-ored garments soak, even for a few minutes, nor remain In a heap, or rolled up while wet, as this Is likely to cause streaking. And dont rub the fabrics, as this Is likely to spread the threads and to fade the color. Thoroughly rinse rayons In three lukewarm or cool rinse waters. Squeeze out the moisture and roll the garment In a dry turkish towel to absorb the excess moisture. Immediately Im-mediately unroll, and dry Indoors, or In the shade never In the sun. Iron on the wrong side with a warm, never a hot, Iron. |
