Show CEDAR LOSES, 7-2, TO MILFORD NINE In an abbreviated 7-inning game, called on account of rain but in which ! the local boys showed to excellent ad-! ad-! vantage, Milford defeated Cedar City, 7 to 12, in a practise game played Sunday Sun-day in the Iron county metropolis. The game was the first played on Cedar's new diamond, which has been made in the rear of the junior high school building, and the game was fairly well attended despite the intensely in-tensely cold and windy weather, which finally resulted in a deluge of cold rain. Incidentally, the Milford boys, in their swanky new suits and with a peppy brand of ball that would do anyone's heart good to see, made-a made-a fine impression on the Cedar people peo-ple and also on local fans who followed fol-lowed the team, of which there were several cars. I Cedar City scored two runs before .the Milford lads had become accustomed accus-tomed to the red-colortd, slantini diamond, but af'er the first two me.i iiad scored on two errors and p similar simi-lar number of sacrifice hits, the local boys settled down and from then on Horton had the Iron-mongers eating out of his hand, allowing only one hit, while the infield worked perfectly, perfect-ly, every nuin being on his toes. Th" timely hitting and base-running of Crawford and Hollis .made of the I game a fast and well-played content. ; The Minersville team, going up to Beaver for a return practise game but shorthanded by some five or six regular men who were detained at home by the necessity for finishing up the shearing at the Minersville corral, lost to the county seat team by a score of 22-2, which was quite diffeient from the S-4 score by which they lost the previous contest with the same team. Milford plays Minersville at the neighboring town in a return practise prac-tise game Sunday afternoon and on Memorial day (Tuesday) goes to Beaver for the first league game of the season. It is understood that the local Junior league team, under the. capaole diiection of J. Cass Root,! who is acting for the local dos'. ot j Legion in sponsorin g th.- Junior bys, i will also go to Eejver on Tuesday I for a set-to with the Beaver luds.
