Show SOUTH MILFORD The Merrymakers held one of their usually pleasant dancing parties at the club house on Friday evening. Activity on the Flat has been very marked the past week with the large I number of pea pickers going among the various fields, also the many trucks doing necessary hauling for the rapid marketing of the peas. The Social Hour club will meet on Thursday, September 6, at the club house with Mesdames Morgan, Griffiths Grif-fiths and William Heslington as hostesses. Mrs. Ivan. McKnight met with a most painful and peculiar accident Tuesday morning, puncturing the tissue tis-sue of an eyeball with a broken grass stalk. Medical aid was necessary and while the suffering has been acute for several days, there will be no serious consequences. Mrs. Banney White of Beaver is with Mrs. McKnight Mc-Knight for a week's stay. Wseley Farr of Beaver and Walter James of Black Rock were business callers on the Flat during the week. Third cutting of alfalfa is about finished, with a large tonnage, and grain threshing has begun. o |
