Show SOUTH I MILFORD ITie Comrtiiunity club met on Saturday Sat-urday evening, June 4th at the club house with a very large attendance of members and young people from various members of families. Pres. Palmer in his usual happy way introduced in-troduced an evening of cards and games which passed a most pleasant pleas-ant social evening. Later the committee com-mittee of which Mrs. Ivan McKnight is chairman served most appetizing refreshments. Mrs. Arthur Williams was in Beaver Beav-er Monday visiting with friends. Mrs. LeRoy Luken is at home again after ten days in the Milford hospital with infected teeth. Cale Elmer, eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Elmer suffered a broken bone and dislocated wrist in his right arm last Saturday afternoon. after-noon. Before his parents knew what he was doing he had tried to crank his father's auto after they stopped to change a tire. The Live Wire girls gave a gay and lively party at the club house on Wednesday evening, June 15th. Games Gam-es and dancing featured entertainment entertain-ment for the younger set. Miss Ellen El-len Ellingsworth had charge of the refreshments and Miss Emma Patterson Pat-terson of the games. Mr. and Mrs. Marton Griffiths, Miss Gladys Gos-pill Gos-pill acted as chaperons. 1 Professor Skinner of the Agricultural Agricul-tural Department in the Spanish Fork high school spent last Monday . with Dr. Bybee in Dr. Bybee's herd of pure bred shorthorns in the Greenville pastures selecting calves for 4-H calf club work. Seven fine animals were chosen and bought by i Prof. Skinner. Almost every rancher on the Flat is engaged in cutting the first crop of alfalfa hay. Owing to frosts and high winds the crop will be very light. Miss Nella Jones is in Cedar City visiting relatives and will remain for ten days. Mr. R. W. Jones and daughters Rosabelle and Nella and son attended the Jones family reunion last Friday at Parowan. When returning that night the Shepherd Creamery truck which was ahead of them swerved to the left and suddenly stopped, quick action upon the part of Miss Rosa-belle Rosa-belle who was driving averted a well nigh fatal accident. The Jones car was badly damaged with the side swipe of the truck but came home on its own power. |
