Show NEEDED IMPROVEMENTS IN OUR TOWN There are many improvements which could be made to better the appearance and conditions of our town if the people of the town were willing to support such ideas and improvements. im-provements. The first great improvement which could be made is the paving of Main street and the repairing of the other streets by gravelling them. We find that it is much more pleasant to drive on paved and gravelled roads when there is snow on the ground, for there is no mud to splash and cause the cars to get mired. This would cause the tourists and townspeople to admire ad-mire the town. The lighting system . of MSlf ord could be bettered by the installment of the "Whiteway" lighting system on Main street. The people would have more protection from attacks if all the dark streets were lighted. This would bring the moral standards of the town up to a higher degree. Another improvement is the beautifying beau-tifying of our cemetery. This could be accomplished by planting, lawn and flowers, and , by clearing away all weeds and brush. The attitude of the people would be changed in regards re-gards to the burial of their friends and relatives in our town if the cemetery ceme-tery were more beautiful. The empty lots and the yards of the people could be kept clean and attractive by the removal of all rubbish rub-bish and garbage, and by planting gardens, flowers and lawns. That is, if the people would take enough pride in the town to do that. Then there is the condemning of; old houses and "shacks" and replacing them with new buildings and homes. Improvements could be made in regards re-gards to the outside surroundings of. the city which would protect the health and cleanliness of the people. The improvements are the removal of dump yards farther away from the town, the replacing of the sewer drainage somewhere several miles ?. way from the town so that disease germs could not thrive and endanger the lives of the people. We the citizens of Milford would ; be very proud of our town if such improvements were made. If such improvements were made our city could become one of ' the prettiest little cities in the state.
