Show SOCIETY The G. I. A. Entertained Mrs. J. S. Killam was hostess to the ladies of the G. I. A., at a bridge party at her home Friday evening. Those present: Mesdames John Han-Ion, Han-Ion, J. C. Jeffers, C. O. Sportsman, A. . E. Smith, W. G. White, I. B. Wad'ding-ham, Wad'ding-ham, Wm. Dawson and J. P. Langen-' backer. Invited guests, Mrs. D. M. Burns, and Mrs. Frank Kuchenmeist-er. Kuchenmeist-er. Prizes for points were won by Mrs. Hanlon; honors, Mrs. Jeffers; guest, Mrs. Burns. After cards, delic-. ious refreshments were served. . J '""Bridge Club Mrs. M. M. Vincent charmingly entertained en-tertained at bridge Friday evening at her home. Members present: Meadam-I es Jeanette Kohler, Louise Campbell, Mjldred Coon, Mildred Rochek, IVera Yepsen and Ruby Ashworth. Invited guests, Mrs. Francis Stanley and Mrs. Audrey Broyles. The Home and Garden Club A very successful meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Geo. Fernley, Thursday afternoon. Plans were .made for the fall planting and arrangements ar-rangements of the yard. After the meeting dainty refreshments were served. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Leonard Bowen. The club meets the first and third of each month. C. H. Club Mrs. Frances Hollis entertained the C. H. Club Thursday at the home of Mrs. Clay.j The following members were present: Mary Peterson, Magie Crawford, Hallie Root, I.avern Davis, Irma' Geiger, Mary Mayres, Marguerite Marguer-ite Miller, Elizabeth Clay, France Hollis and one visitor, Mrs. Martin. A harkerehief shower was given in ' honor of the secretary. Mrs. Maude Robinson who moved to I.ynndyl. Vot- es were cast for new secretary, Mrs. Geiger being elected. At 10:30 a delicious de-licious luncheon was served by hostess, hos-tess, assisted by Mary Peterson and. Elizabeth Clay. j The Social Hour Club met last Thursday afternoon at the Club "House with Mesdames Reuben Jones and Arthur Williams. The vice president, presi-dent, Mrs. McKnight presided and conducted an enthusiastic discussion regarding the club sending a project worker to the A. C. Extension school which begins in late October. Final decision of this important step was left to the judgment of the clubs officers. offic-ers. Delicious refresments were served by the hostesses, a color scheme of red and white predominating. Adjournment Ad-journment was taken to the first Thursday in November, account the livestock day on October 15th. j Bundle Shower Mrs. Aliene Osborne, Mrs. Eva Brnks and Mrs. Verna Bird were hostesses at a bundle shower in honor of Mrs. Myrtle Mills. The guest of honor received many beautiful gifts. Refreshments were served to twenty-six twenty-six guests. |
