Show SOUTH MILFORD NOTES Mothers' Club Mrs. Ivan McKnight entertained the Mothers Club of Minersvilla at her home last Friday. The house was attractively decorated in colors suited for Hallowe'en. The honor guest was the hostess' mother, Mrs. Hattie Meyers; others especially invited were Mesdames Claude Meyers, Parley Fisher and Hilda Marshall. Impromptu musical numbers and' needle-work whiled away a pleasant afternoon- The hostess served surprise refreshments refresh-ments from gaily decked small tables. G. 0. P. Women Active The Womens' Hoover club is a live organization and its candidate rally, held last Monday evening at the club house, proved very full of pep and interest. Its Glee club will function at the next rally on Monday, Oct. 29, at the Club house. The male voters will probably be invited too, to listen to some speeches by out of town talent. Mrs. Geo. F. Stanley left Tuesday for Salt Lake and Ogden for a visit with relatives and friends. Miss Beniti James was an over- night guest at the Cates ranch on Thursday, last. Messers. Donald Fairchild of Salt Lake and Charles Weber of Pana, 111., spent several days deer hunting in our canyons with their cousins, W. E. and J. G. Weber. Social Hour Club The Social Hour club met ai me Club house last Thursday with Mrs. Walter Cook and Mrs. James Rollins as hostesses. Members answered roll-call roll-call with poems or stories about Hallonwe'en. Mrs. Carlton read interesting excerpts ex-cerpts from her daughter's letters of the devastation and homeless conditions condi-tions in Porto Rico. Mrs. Griffiths sang a pleasing selection, sel-ection, after which everyone was seated seat-ed at a long table beautifully decorated decora-ted with autumn leaves and yellow candelabra. Refresments were served in keeping keep-ing with the Hallowe'en spirit. The club will meet the first Thursday Thurs-day in November for an all-day session ses-sion to work on the coat-making project pro-ject recently given here by Miss Af-ton' Af-ton' Odell, of the U. A. C. Extension Division. Each worker is to bring her lunch. |
