Show JBEAVER LAND IS MOVING AGAIN POTATO FARMS NEAR HERE EVIDENCE OF VALLEY'S WORTH Land in Beaver county is moving, says D. E. Kirk, Milford realtor. Many land deals were consummated during the past few days, which involve in-volve the ownership of quite a bit. of acreage. More interest is gradually being taken by outside people in Milford valley as a good farming section. At the present time, it is a treat to go ou on the project and view the 100 acres of potato land being farmed by E. C. Schroeder. Where large patches are being farmed by machinery totally, as is in this case, it will be observed that farming is keeping up with other industries in modern methods. Mr. Schroeder is also farming near Beryl, in Iron county. On his place in our neighboring county, he has 360 acres of wheat, 160 of oats, and 40 acres of potatoes. His wheat is well over knee-high, and his crop is assured even if he does not get another an-other drop of rain this summer. This farm is one of the most systematic in the country certainly it would be hard to find one more orderly. Pumps are put in every quarter of a mile. Steel fence posts are set at regular intervals to an inch. These are set by machinery, and do not vary an inch in distance apart. They are also set so that, no matter what the contour con-tour of the land, their tops are in a perfectly straight line. His farm in Iron county, together with the 100 acres of potatoes near Milford, constitute a revelation to those who have seen his land and observed ob-served his methods. |
