Show EFFECTS OF WELL-LIGHTED STREETS One of the first things a new-comer notices in coming into a new location, especially if entering at night, is the lighting of the city's main streets. The lights of Milford play in the distance for fifeen miles before be-fore entering town, and beckon hospitably toward itself. On entering en-tering the city one tHavels down a wide well-lighted street and a much better impression is gained than if only a few lights hung just enough to allow traffic to get by without smash-ups. Then again in entering Beaver, the friendly twinkling may be seen for several miles before coming upon the main part of town with lights on either side. Few citizens stop to think of the mighty influence which well-lighted streets have upon new arrivals. But new-come citizens citi-zens will tell you that there is a close connection between street well-lighted, and making the decision to become a member of that certain community. The cities and towns of Beaver county, especially es-pecially Beaver and Milford, should be proud of their street lighting light-ing and should never begrudge what taxes have gone into them. Streets well-lighted at night is one of the three or four important items which a person scrutinizes when considering a new location i.nd whidh means so much to the safety and securtity of its citizens. ni , |
