Wynaught, .as named to confer with the town ioard to see if the sewage line could iot be extended further out of town. Dr. Parrish also stated that he and Dr. Bybee, together with Dr. Kohler, would soon open up offices of-fices in Milford to practice medicine together, and in that way would be able to serve the public to the best. Clean-Up Campaign It was said that the Clean-up campaign cam-paign would probably be continued over until Saturday, because inclement incle-ment weather had hindered the work to some extent, although satisfactory progress was reported as having been made by some organizations. It was urged that the Lions club, as promoters promo-ters of the move, should be a group that should be especially busy on its assignment of the clean-up. Streets and Roads Mr. Jefferson spoke at length on the condition of the side streets in Milford, which he said were Dad. President L. G. Clay retorted that he had been able to raise about seven hundred and fifty dollars, which the county had agreed to match dollar for dollar, but that the amount was insufficient for the country roads, and the stretches leading into town. He asked that the club help him to get more money for street and road work, and also for some machinery. There was no use in trying to do street work with the present equipment, equip-ment, he said. He said it would take a thousand dollars to gravel our streets. He also stated that the money which had been raised only made a good start on road work. The idea of inducing the county authorities authori-ties to levy a small county road tax was discussed at some length. o |
