Murdock of the White Market inserted a little notice in his ad that he was expecting ex-pecting a shipment of northern Utah Elberta peaches on the 15th and was ready to take orders for same. The paper appeared on the 7th, but to Joe's surprise his peaches arrived just the next day following, a week ahead of schedule. sched-ule. The shipment comprised a truckload, sixty-nine baskets in all. By noon of the day of, their arrival they had all been readily bought up. Mr. Murdock had of course passed pass-ed the word along to hisi patrons by word of mouth as weK. as advertising ad-vertising in this paper. i)ut his success is proof of the pudding that advertising is read and that 'it pays'. |
