Show BREAK EVEN WITH VEGAS IN TENNIS Milford'and Las Vegas tennis players play-ers broke even in their matches on the Milford courts last Sunday. Four of the matches were won by each squad, ' and one was a tie. Of the four men's singles matches, three were won by Milford in straight sets. Burns won from j Thurman, 6-2 and 6-3. Hamilton de-1 feated Lackey, 7-5 and 6-4. Hick-i man defeated his Las Vegas oppon-; ent, a Japanese player, 6-2 and 6-4. Hampton of Vegas( overcame Brown's early lead, to win 6-8, 6-4 and 6-0. Men's doubles were lost by Milford, M-orley and Brown succumbing to Lackey and Hampton, 8-10 and 4-6. In the women's games, Miss Gladys Coleman lost to her Las Vegas opponent in straight sets. Miss Eva Coleman won one set and lost one, and the match was called a tie to allow the doubles to proceed. Milford Mil-ford lost the women's doubles, but in mixed doubles, Eva Coleman and Bud Hamilton were able to defeat the visitors. Cm Sunday, the 27th, Milford tennis players will play at Las Vegas. Members Mem-bers of the Athletic Club are arranging ar-ranging for a special car for ' the trip. |
