Show MEN'S TENNIS TOURNAMENT STARTED The men started their battle for singles honors last Monday. First round matches have all been played off, and about twenty contestants have been eliminated. Judging from the matches we have witnessed, Milford Mil-ford tennis players could give : good account of themselves in most any competition. We mention just a few interesting battles. Roy Coleman, junior chanyp, upset Harold Carlson by scores of 0-0, 5-7, 6-2. Mr. D. M. Burns was a bit too much for Mr. Knight, winning by scores of 6-0, 3-6, 6-1. Mr. Harold Cline showed plenty of reserve in defeating Walt McCul-ly, McCul-ly, 6-0, 7-5. By far the best tennis displayed thus far was observed in 'the match between Ted McCully and Ray Casterline, Ted being-declared being-declared victor at 8-6, 6-3. Those boys were stepping lively! It's right difficult to predict the winners in this tournament, but look out for the old war horse, Bill Morley. n |
