Show RESPECTED CITIZEN OF OASIS LI TO - RES1 TUESDAY WIFE OF COl'XTV COMMISSIOXKK J!. II. PKDKKSKX PASSES AWAY AI TEK IELXESS OF MAXV YEARS. Mrs. Josephine Johansen Peder-sen, Peder-sen, wife of B. H. Pedersen of Oasis, passed away at her home Saturday, November 14th, after suffering with acute asthma for twenty years. During Dur-ing the past twelve years she suffered constantly. Mrs. Pedersen was born August 2, 1850, in Gettinge, Sweeden. She came to the United States about 40 years ago. With her husband and family she moved to Utah in 1891 and has been a resident of Millard County for many years. She was a staunch member of the Lutheran church until four weeks before her death, when she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, being baptised by her husband and confirmed by her youngest son, Herman. Her-man. She is survived by her husband, B. H. Pedersen and the following sons: Joseph, 37 of Eureka; Arthur, 35, of Salt Lake City; Alon, 33, and 35, of Salt Lake City; Allen, 33 and The family is well known and highly respected in this part of the state. The husband of the deceased is Commissioner of Millard County, and Herman, the youngest son is Cashier of Oasis State Bank. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Tues-day, November 17th in the Oasis Ward Chapel, Bishop Marcus Skeeni presiding. The opening prayer was, offered by Bishop Damron of Des-eret. Des-eret. The speakers were Jame3 B, Blake of Hinckley; and Samuel W Western West-ern of Deseret, bqth old neighbors; Bishop Skeem and John Styler of Oasis. All lod of the noble character char-acter of the departed; of her patience ii suffering, and of her solicitude for the welfare of others when her health permitted her to render assistance, as-sistance, The Deseret Ward choir sang: "Sister Thou Wast Kind and Lovely," "When the Mists Have Ilolled Away" and "Rest, Rest, On the Hillside, Rest." Nina Huff and Handy Kelly rendered a vocal duet. Peter A. Peterson of the Deseret ward bishopric bishop-ric pronounced the benediction. Interrment was in the Hinckley Cemetery. |
