Ward motored in from California Saturday leaving leav-ing the Coast on Wednesday and getting here on Saturday evening. Both Mr. and Mrs. Ward look quite well, though somewhat used up by trip. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Little returned re-turned to Delta to make their home. Mrs. Little has been in Mc GUI, Nev. since February. -Mrs. Little was Mrs. Irene Crumley of Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cory and Mr. Charles Cory of Cedar City spent a few days in Delta with their sister, Mrs Will Mac Farlane. Mr. and Mrs. Will Mac Farlane left for Cedar City Wednesday to take la the Rodeo and visit friends and relatives. Among those who took In the Rodeo Ro-deo at Salt Lae City were R. J. Law, Jos. D. Mercer, J. C. Mercer, Wm. J. Starley, Peter Knudson, Mr. and Mrs. Oda J. Day of Oasis, W. R. Pratt of Hinckley, and Alma Jennings, of Deardon and Jennings, of Garrison. Garri-son. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Neely, Chester Wells, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Nelson, Miss Verna Nelson, and Percy returned re-turned last week from a trip to Bryce's Bry-ce's Canyon, Mammoth Creek, and Fish Lake. Mrs. Wallace Wright entertained at her home on Thursday afternoon at "500." The guests were Mrs. Charles Peppard, Mrs. Stanley Fol-scm, Fol-scm, Mrs. Spencer Wright, Mrs. Harry Har-ry Peterson, Mrs. R. C. Cass, Mrs. Frank Beckwith, Mrs. W. E. Cook, Mrs. J. C. Juhl, Mrs. Ben Douglas, Marcta Tangren. A delicious lun-cneon lun-cneon was served. Mrs. W. E. Cook and Mrs. Spencer Spenc-er Wright entertained on Wednesday Wednes-day for Mrs. Harry Peterson, at the home of Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Frank Beckwith assisting. The afternoon was spent at cards. Those present were Mrs. Stanley Folcom, Mrs. Ben Douglas, Miss Lillian Goldstein, Mrs. O. A. Tangren, Mrs. R. C. Cass, Mrs. Wallace Wright, Miss Alice Steb-bins, Steb-bins, and Miss Gerle Beckwith. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Kirby, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Corbett, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Miles and their respective families, and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Dodds, and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Corbett spent Labor Day in the Canyon. Mrs. T. C. Gronning returned to Delta after spending two months visiting her slsteis In Oregon. She had a thoroughly nice time. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur N. Sumner of Lynndyl were Delta visitors Tuesday. Tues-day. Miss Pearl Bolton of Salt Lako City was the gueBt of her sister, Mri. D. A. Bunker this week. On August 29th it was 98 degrees. The hottest day of the season was 99, some time earlier in the year. The close of August was very warm. |
