Show Explosion at the Dam February 29th, while on night shift, six men became the victims if a terrific explosion of a two-hundred two-hundred pound carbide lamp. The men were at work in a tunnel, using this huge lamp for their only means of light. The foreman G. H. Jensen, originally of Manti, asked the men to move the lamp in order that this shots which had been placed might be fired. But in attempting attempt-ing to do so the explosion oc-cured. oc-cured. Those standing nearest the lamp were the most seriously burned. Their hands and faces being exposed were affected the most. A doctor was immediately immediate-ly summoned from Nephi but did not arrive until the following-morning. following-morning. He stated that the wound3 were not fatal.
