Show Fire Protection Needed Recently two affairs have occurred oc-curred which force us to remark that the town is sadly in need of some sort of fire protection. The most effective within its reach would probably be the chemical engine which is very effective during the early stage of a fire. Mrs. Nebeker recently had an exciting experience with a gasoline lamp while in the linen room of the Dunsmore. Her presence of mind gave her sufficient suffic-ient thot to sieze a quilt and extinguish ex-tinguish the flames before they did much damage. Last Saturday night Chas. Winebrenner discovered a fire in the kitchen- of the Kelly hotel which had probably originated in a box of papers by a lighted match. It was about 10;00 o'clock, p. m., and the fire had gained considerable headway. However, it was discovered before be-fore it had gotten beyond control, and water being at hand, it was soon subdued. |
