Show Lynndyl Improving Crops Look Good Fine Hotel Building Last Monday we visited the thriving little city of Lynndyl and noted the fact that things- were ' moving along in that locality as well as elsewhere in the "Greater" "Great-er" Delta country. During our ' stay we enjoyed a ride over a part of the Sevier Land & Water Co's new project which is just developing, in company with D. W. Scannell of the Golden Rule Store, and viewed the growing crops on the farm of John Great-house, Great-house, of Leamington. This farm lies just a mile north of Lynndyl and the crop now being raised is the second ever produced produc-ed on the land. Mr. Greathouse has in 120 acres of his farm this year and expects good returns when the harvest comes and judging from what we saw he will not be disappointed. Much the larger part of the place is seeded to winter and spring wheat and it all looks fine. He also has in some oats and barley and some alfalfa which is coming nicely. This farm is being run scientifically and as a result the returns for the season will be exceedingly ex-ceedingly good notwithstanding the fact that two years ago it was a desert. Among other things in the way of improvement we noted in our neighboring city was a fine modern mod-ern two-story brick hotel now under construction. This fine hostlery is the property of Lewis Neilson, of Leamington. It is being finished thruout with mod-, ern conveniences, such as hot a,nd cold water, bath, toilets etc. The building is comprised of 17 rooms and is finished in stained oak. Mr. Neilson is to be congratulated for his thrift and enterprise and Lynndyl is to be congratulated on being able to house the public in a manner . befitting the best. Messrs Harder Har-der and Johnson have the contract con-tract for the construction ' and are executing it in a pleasing way. |
