"I have none," responded the prisoner; prison-er; "haven't any money." "Do you want a lawyer?" asked the judge. "Yes, your honor." "There is Mr. Smith, Mr. Brown and Mr. Robinson," said the Judge, pointing point-ing to the young attorneys waiting briefless and breathless for something to turn up, "and Mr. Alexander is out in the corridor." The prisoner eyed the budding at torneys, and after a critical survey said: "Well, I guess I'll take Mr. Alexander." |
