Show TROOPS CLASH WITH MEXICANS. Forty-two Mexicans Killed and Number Num-ber Wounded In Clash. Namiquipa, Mexico A full squadron of 230 men of the Eleventh cavalry surprised and routed a much larger force of Villistas at Ojo Azules, seventeen seven-teen miles south of Cusihulriachic. By actul count forty-two Mexicans were killed and a number wounded, but there were no American casualties. The American command under Major Robert L. Howze had been pursuing the Villistas under Generals Cruz Do-minguez Do-minguez and Julio Acosta for several days when they encountered them encamped en-camped in the huddled adobe jackals of Ojo Azules. The Mexicans were utterly ut-terly surprised and sprang from their pallets half-clothed. |
