The Germans have seized the offensive from lite hands of the French and on Sunday delivered furious furi-ous attacks on the fifteen-mile front north of Verdun, winning successes on both sides of the .Mcuse. The bombardment lias attained a climax of violence from the Argonne to far in the Woevre. At the St. Mihiel salient the Germans are showing signs of great activity.
