Show HIGH SCHOOL AT FILLMORE. On April 20th the people of the county will be called on to vote on the question "Shall Millard County have one or more High Schools, and where located?" Our Fillmore correspondent give strong reasons why we should vote for one high school and that It be located at Fillmore. We think that when the whole situation U understood under-stood the voters will agree with the proposition and vote accordingly. The west side I not asked to help support a high' school on the east side for an indellnlte time, but only to have the school established at Fillmore and provided pro-vided with a two-mill tax for Its su-port su-port this year. This will amount to a tax of $1 on an assessed valuation of each ."00 certainly not a heavy tax. As soon as possible the county will be divided Into two high school districts and we are assured that the people on the east side will support the division. The west side Is not yet ready for a high school, but will be in a very few years. It will then be able to build and support a high school. The east-side east-side Is certainly entitled to a high school. Fillmore has been very ambitious am-bitious In the way of educational facilities facil-ities and pays a much higher tax for education than any other town In the county. The west side ha a chance to help out our neighbor on the east and we hope they will vote unanimously unanimous-ly In favor of the high school Jil.F'U-! niore. Hy the way, Hro. Anderson, if you would save some of your rneugre space to boost for the high school at Fillmore Fill-more a theChronlele is doing, and not take up so much of the space of your little quack madlclne and whisky advertising sheet In a lot of drivel In a futile attempt to Injure a successful rival, you would do more for your community. Keep on as you have been going the last few weeks and you stand a good chance of losing out on the high school proposition. Take a tumble, Hro. Anderson. Hoost Instead of knock. |
