Ed. FARMERS' ASSOCIATION. Editor Chronicle: I am well pleased with the Chronicle and enlose $2 to pay for my subscription. Your article In the Issue of the 7th on Alfa'fa Meed .-' - . Raisers Association whs a good one, and I am heartily in favor of such an organization building' a good warehouse ware-house with first-class machinery. In regard to the statement of the seed buyers that It Is the fault of the farmers farm-ers that the seed doesn't sell as well this year. It Is not altogether correct. Some ut us havo raised line seed uud cleaned It well. Undoubtedly there are others who have not done mi. I have not seen a buyer yet who has not had his sampler and tried every sack be has bought, therelore it he gut any dirty seed he took It with his eves open. Of course the majority have some seed damaged by frost, of which we cannot make first class seed. It Is the only way by which we seed raisers can lteep up the standard of seed and secure se-cure a good price and a ready market. With a secretary who would keep In touch with the buyers, let them know the amount that would bo marketed und guarantee every sack lo be of the grade of the sample sent and we wouldn't be at the mercy of two or three local buyers who. If they are not In a combine, agree among themselves them-selves as to what they wjy pay. It Is easy for them to flx the price when they deal with one farmer at a time, but with ail the seed In the hands of |
