Two cars of Emigrant goods from Santa Anna, Cali., arrived in Lucerene last week. The parties par-ties are located two miles north of Lucerne. Mrs. E. Olds will entertain the Thimble Club next Wednesday. It is probably the last meeting that Grandma Olds will be with ' us, and is hoped all members will be present, and bring their thimbles, needles anc scissors to quilt the club quilt. The ladies of the Friendship Thimble Club, gave Mrs. Ralph . Buehler a pleasant surprise on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Buehler Buehl-er was founder of the club, and as she is soon to leave to make her future home in some other ! part of the world, the ladies . presented her with a fine book for a rememberance, and a token of the esteem in which she was held by the club. We all wish herself and family, health, happiness hap-piness and prosperity, where-ever where-ever they may settle. We feel sure they will soon long for 1 dear old Utah, and we will be ; glad to welcome them back. i (Too late for last week) i J. W. Sunday School are to have. Thanksgiving exercises exer-cises at the school house. A program pro-gram and children's dance in the afternoon, picnic, supper and ; dance in the evening. ! R. M. Wright made a trip to ; Eureka last week vvith a load of ' dressed pork. The new store building of R. I J. Law's is progressing nicely and may be ready for occupancy i in a few days. 3 Owing to the high water in the t canals, there are many breaks 3 reported and the roads are flood-el flood-el in many places. L. E. Perrin, who is buying ' wheat for the Globe Milling Co., 1 shiped several cars from Lieerne this week, A new thrashing outfit from 3 Nephi, is at work in the Clark ; and Barnett neighborhood. We ' understand they will store the outfit at David Porter's and be ' ready to start on the North Tract ' another season. |
