Show Overdrafts The Delta State Bank is in receipt re-ceipt of the following letter from the Bank Examiner of the State of Utah, about overdrafts: "During the last two years, circular cir-cular letters have been sent out to all the banks under the supervision super-vision of the Banking Department Depart-ment of this State, in relation to the matter of overdrafts, calling upon them to assist the Department Depart-ment in finally eliminating this vicious habit of banking. The reduction in over drafts has not reached the point the Banking Department would like. The overdrafts of your institution, in your last published report, are to high. "During the examination of the bank by myself and the Examiner, Ex-aminer, we have personally taken this question up and discussed it very freely with officers and directors, di-rectors, and in nearly every case they have signified a willingness to discontinue this habit of banking; bank-ing; 90't of the losses of a bank originate with an overdrawn account." ac-count." The Delta State Bank hereby makes public notice to all its customers, cus-tomers, that whatever former Accomodations have been permitted, permit-ted, and "whatever over draft have heretofore been allowed, that hereafter we must decline to grant this privilege. You will please not overdraw. We do not wish to offend, and in fact, will grant any and every loan withir, our power to handle, but it must come to us as a loan, and not as an overdraft. So, please do not overdraw: the checks in excess of the funds on deposit will be promptly turned back. However, if you wish the use of funds, come to us with application for a loan, anc you will find that we will take care of you to the fullest of oui ability. But the overdraft must cease.
