Show Millard Farm Bureau Elects New Officers The Millard county Farm Bureau will hold election of officers on Monday night,8 p. m., March 11. The meeting will be held in the Delta high school. All members of the organization both men and women, are asked to attend, and all others interested in farm bureau work are invited -to come. 1 There will be some guest speakers speak-ers that evening, either the presi- ' dent or the secretary of the state farm bureau, and the president of the women's organization, who will give talks pertinent to the work of the bureau. The Blue Cross hospital plan will be explained and discussed that night. Lt. Col. Earl Slaughter has been visiting with his mother recently. He has been located at Ft. Worth, Texas and is now assigned to ov- I erseas duties. He will embark this week from Greensborough, N. C. for Germany. Col. Slaughter left his wife in Springville at the home of her parents, where she will remain re-main until she can join her husband hus-band in Germany. Ens. Val Gene Black received his honorable discharge at San Francisco Fran-cisco from the navy on March 1. He was met by his parents in Salt Lake City, and then went on to the University of New Mexico to finish two semesters in engineering. engineer-ing. Cpl. Robert Black cabled his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels L. Black that he was transferred from his former division, the 42nd, to the 329 Infantry, and that he expected to be home in a month or so. S. Sgt. Richard Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Gardner, returned re-turned home a week ago, after receiving re-ceiving his discharge at Camp Beai. S. Sgt. Gardner had been in the air corps for 40 months, stationed sta-tioned first in Georgia, then Kansas, Kan-sas, and then at Meeker, Cal. Several Sev-eral months ago on one of the flights to the east coast they were making, as they went over Delta he noticed the temperature on the plane wing was 26 deg. below zero up there. S. Sgt. Gardner was the crew chief on a number of flights, including four trips to the east coast and back. Lt. and Mrs. Charles E. Daly and son Michael visited in Delta last Thursday with Lt. Daly's grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Leone Daly. Lt. Daly is a fighter pilot, and was being transferred from Luke Field, Ariz, to Spokane, Wash., and drove thru here with his family. Wayne Pratt, gunner's mate 3!c, is visiting in Delia with his grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. E. Blackburn. Wayne had been released from the navy after 38 months of service in the south Pacific. Mrs. Hat t ie Goodwin has returned return-ed to her home in Beaver after visiting vis-iting here with her daughter, Mrs. Newel Iverson. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sampson and Alonzo Sampson went tn Lyman Ly-man Tuesday to attend the funreal services there for Mrs. Minne C. De Leew. |
