Show Oak City ... , Mae Shipley The speakers at Sacrament meeting meet-ing w ere Pvt. Acel Lyman and . Geo. Lyman. They both gave good talks, especially the ex-POW, A-cel A-cel Lyman. Primary meeting was held at the home of Esther Anderson. President Pres-ident Susan Shipley presided and Helen Anderson gave the lesson. The school had a Hallowe'en on Monday night at the school house. M-S Joseph Christensen gave a wedding shower for their daughter. daugh-ter. Ila. now Mrs. Bill Billignsby. Seventeen lady friends enjoyed i the party. The Mutual Harvest Ball will be held Wednesday. Nov. 31. Two one-act one-act plays will be given and dancing danc-ing following. Principal Bennett made a week end trip to Provo this week. I M-S Maiben Jacobson and children chil-dren from Brigham City were in Oak City this week. Mrs. Eula Oelson came with them. Alethea Jacobson returned with them for a visit. Wesley Shipley went to Salt Lake City this week, accompanied by Acel and George Lyman, and M-S Carwin Nielson. Alden J. Nielson, EMSC, who has been in action on the USS Salt Lake City is home on leave for a-bout a-bout 30 days. He will report for duty Nov. 29 at Shoemaker, Cal. Word has been received that I-van I-van and Grant Oelson are in the states and will be home soon. urday and Sunday. Tracy Shields of the U. S. Navy will soon report back to Ft. Douglas Doug-las upon the expiration of his 30-day 30-day furlough. Gene Overson, who is attending the A. C. at Logan, came home for a short visit. Pvt. Cliff Harris came home on Sunday, having a 15-day furlough. George and Pete Mienhardt were up from California for the deer hunt. Shirley Clark came up with her uncle Mitch Clark and is visiting with her family. L. Morrison drove to Salt Lake City Monday, taking Mrs. Dick Morrison and small daughter up for medical treatment. Mrs. Carlyle Johansen and her children returned on Tuesday from a visit of two weeks in Ogden with her parents. Bob Moody telephoned his parents par-ents from New York City, where he had arrived for Navy day. From there he goes to Europe. You know the Walkers always counted Charlie Jensen one of the best friends we had But we just don't know what to think about him by now. Why they came right over in our field and killed a nice one-point buck. You remember last year there was one "thereabouts." "there-abouts." You'd suppose when a deer was in our field, they'd have come and told us, wouldn't you? Well Charlie has always been a "right fine neighbor," so I guess we'll forget it after all. Vern Fowles is the proud papa these days. A girl after all those boys. But Fred Turner is the busiest bus-iest papa taking care of the wee ones while Elaine is at the hospital hos-pital with the new baby. All the Jolly Stitcher ladies are' soaking their feet in warm water so they'll be nice and rested for the big supper Friday night. It takes a gTeat deal of footwork, those suppers, but believe me.they want me to say "The food is good and the bazaaar articles numerous and lovely." Come'n see! Jay Bea. M-S Jay Bennett and their two sons have returned to Delta to make their home again. They have been living in , Magna and Jay worked in Garfield. M-S Harlod Ogden, of Los Angeles An-geles announce the birth of a daughter, dau-ghter, Jean, born Oct. 27, weight 7 pounds ten ounces. Mrs. Ogden's mother, Mrs. Laura Johnson, of Delta, is with her for a visit. |
