Show Chatter Box Dear Suzy, I would have a lot to tell you I this week only the Boss is not one for free speech, which is(an absurd situation considering as how he runs a newspaper. Anyway lie has threatened me with a constriction about the throat if I ever breath a word about his predicament during dur-ing the deer hunt. He said (only using more colorful color-ful words): "If you even hint in your column about how I met the largest deer in the world face to face, only ih his case is was vice versa, and after admiring it for 37 minutes while gathering my wits, deciding to shoot it square betwixt the eyes, and being met with most disheartening results, your life will be in great jeopardy. And don't mention one word about missing is 3 shots while both it and I were standing, nor don't say a word about me deciding to sit down and leave the buck standing there while I made further attempts at-tempts on its life. "And don't blather about how that buck stood there paying no more attention to me than if I was a Republican candidate for President, and me with all six of my shells shot. Further don't say anything about those- pants I bought at the Delmart being so tight about the (another colorful word) that I had to stand up to get more shells out of my pocket, because they might stop their advertising. ad-vertising. And please don't tell about getting those shells in backwards, back-wards, then having to stand up again to get my pocket knife out of those (colorful) pants, sitting down again to pry out the jammed jamm-ed (he said jammed) shells, reloading, re-loading, shooting with the usual-misses, usual-misses, standing up again for more shells, Sitting down and loading and shooting some more until that buck became bored with the whole affair and walked over the hill. "If you mention a word about me it will look like you are playing play-ing favorites, and it will make Hon Cropper and Jim Petresen sore for missing the second largest buck in the world, and nothing said about it. Also it will make Clay Stapley irked because he let the third largest buck in the world crawl out from under his gun barrel and then missed it 8 shots. Also take Dudley Crafts with the "Case of the Empty Gun." He shot all his shells at a minature 2-point and then when the fourth largest buck in the world stood broadside at 50 feet all he could do was admire it. To mention any of this would make some people think there was an epidemic of buck fever in these parts." 1 He said,, "it is OK to rib the other guys but lay off me." So you see with all those instructions and "don'ts" there is really nothing noth-ing I can write about this week. Toots, the Silent. (Nick, please come and remove the body.)
