Avery Bishop spent Father's Day in Logan with i "N 0 their son Alvin. Mr. and Mrs.. John Koiter spent a few days in Delta this week renewing re-newing old acquaintances. They are located in Vernal and report conditions very active there. They own and operate a motel in Vernal. Ver-nal. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hawley, from Berkeley, California, are visiting with relatives and friends at Oasis and Delta. Mr. and Mrs. John Koiter, from Vernal, are visiting in Delta this week. John may go to Holland this summer to see his mother, who is 94; she has five sons, four of whom are home now, one after two years detention in Deshau concentration camp. Mrs. Ches Jacobs, from Ogden, is visiting here this week. Mrs. Nellie Workman is back in Delta to make her home. She has been in California with her daughter, daught-er, and now comes to Delta to live with her other daughter, Mrs. Clarence Bunker. Mrs. Lemira Day ana two children child-ren from Eureka, Cal are visiting in Delta with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Rawlinson, and her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Henrey Forster. Cpl. Oscar L. Sims came to Delta Tuesday with his sister, who joined him at Salt Lake City. Oscar has been going to school in Texas, and will return there in the fall. Joseph D. Mercer is back from Salt Lake City, slightly improved in condition from the attack of mastoid he is suffering from. The Rook-Time Club met at the home of Phyllis Davis Wednesday, where the time was spent playing One High. Those present were Ruth Leavitt, Orvetta Nickles, Rae Jensen, Beulah Rowley, Mae Welch, Beth Holman, Cora Jensen, and Ne-dra Ne-dra Robison. High scores were held by Orvetta Nickle and Rae Jensen, low by Beulah Rowley. Mrs. Ila Billingsley returned to her home in Salt Lake City this week after spending a week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Christensen of Oak City. Her sister, Ruby, returned with her for a weeks visit.. A wedding dance and shower will be given Friday night June 21, at the Sugarvllle hall following the marriage of Robert Jensen and Verla Jean Barben at the home of the bride's grandmother, llenreetta Barben. Everyone is invited. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Starley went to Salt Lake City this week where Mrs. Starley underwent an opcra lion. Mrs. Rita Harris of California visited in Delta this week with her mother, Mrs. Nellie Workman. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Peterson spent the first part of the week in Salt Lake City. Mrs. C. Cropper came down from Salt Lake City this week to spend some time this summer in Delta and vicinity. Reed Walker came up from Col-ton, Col-ton, California this week with his bees. He will return to Colton shortly and bring his family here. The Misses Helen and Emma Jean Pratt are spending a three weeks vacation in American Fork, Utah, at the home of Mr., and Mrs. Fred U. Warnick. An outdoor party was the way Mr. and Mrs. Cutler Henrie entertained enter-tained their family last Saturday evening in honor of Father's Day. Outdoor games were had for small fry singing and other games were had for adults. A wienie roast topped the evening and was enjoyed by all. Births: To Mr. and Mrs. Grant Fin-tinson, Fin-tinson, a girl. June 14. To Mr. and Mrs. Mahonri Cropper, agirl, June 16. Mrs. Christie Fitzgerald underwent under-went a major operation at the Delta hospital on Thursday. Miss Dorothy Sanford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Sanford, was operated on for appendicitis at the Delta hospital this week. Mrs. Eloise Chambers was operated oper-ated on in the hospital in Delta on Saturday, for appendicitis. Mr. and Mrs. Orran Ashby re-' re-' turned Tuesday from a week's trip, I visiting in Salt Lake City and in Bicknell. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hessick, and daughter Linda, spent the week end in Delta with Mrs. Hessicks parents, Mr. and Mrs. Huffine. They were on their way from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City, on their vacation. |
