Show , DESKRET .... Mrs. Liwile Sampson A Christmas party and banquet for Daughters of Utah Pioneers of tiie Faany Cropper camp was held at the banquet hall in the Deseret ward Thursday afternoon. After the hot dinner was served Christmas ' presents were exchanged and Anna Hales gave a Christmas reading, and a very good time was had by all. The Teen Age party was held Thursday night at the Deseret chapel. They sang carols and played play-ed games. Afterwards lunch was served to twelve girls and teachers. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Torrence from Orem came down to get Mrs. Tor-rence's Tor-rence's mother, Mrs. Zada Dewsnup to go to Orem to spend Christmas with them. Mrs. Norma Hansen and girls are spending Christmas in Fillmore with Mrs. Henry Hansen and family. fam-ily. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup are spending Christmas in Fillmore with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mace and family. A surprise party was held Saturday Sat-urday evening for Thersa Webb. The occasion being her birthday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Dewsnup, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Plurk, and Mr. and Mrs. Clivo 1'laok and Mr. and Mrs. Jack C Webb. The evening was spent in playing cards and a birthday cake was served for refreshments. Thersa Ther-sa was presented with a number of nice gifts. Mrs. Evelyn Cropper and children, child-ren, and Barbara Curtis, spent the weekend in Salt Lake City doing Christmas shopping. President M. Ward Moody and family will give the program in Sacrament meeting Sunday, Dec. 29. Everyone is invited to come. Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Black have gone to Los Angeles, California, to snend Christmas. On their return trip they will visit at Gridley, California Cal-ifornia with Mr. Rlack's sister, Mrs. Agnes Justesen and family. The Deseret Rook Club met at the home of Lillian Pippin Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Those present were Luella Western, Lillian Pippin, Ladle La-dle Sampson, Arprilla Scow, Carole Warnick, Erma Dean Croft, Evelyn Eve-lyn Cropper, and Stella Carling. Gifts were exchanged and a lovely lunch was served with Christmas decorations. The rest of the evening even-ing was spent playing One High Rook. Prizes being won by Luella Western, Carole Warnick and Erma Dean Croft. Primary Preparation meeting , was held at President Myrle C. '(Rennett's home Friday evening, December 20. Opening prayer was ?iven by Inez Damron. Scriptural readings were given by Lucile Sampson, Norma Hansen. Eunice Black, Arprilla Scow, Vonria Moody and Measa Cropper, with other teachers following in discussion. A Christmas story was given by Norma Hansen. The rest of the evening eve-ning was spent in a Christmas social, so-cial, playing games etc: Those present pre-sent were Eunice P'icfc, Arprilla Scow, Alice Webo, Norma Hansen, Maesa Cropper, Ethel Western, Verle Damron, Enid Damron, Von-da Von-da Moody, Lucile Hales, Lucile Sampson, and Luella Western. The president, Myrle C. Bennett, the 1st councilor, Inez W. Damron and the 2nd councilGr.Eae' R. Jensen, "wefe the hostesses to the party. A delicious deli-cious plate lunch was served with the Christmas theme carried out. I Prizes were won in the games by Norma Hansen, Inez Damron and Myrle C. Bennett. At the close ol the party President Bennett nre- ' serifed eacti-'sfficer and teacher with a lovely book of poems. Friday afternoon at the A. C. Nelson school a very nice program was put on by the teachers, Mr. -Morgan Edwards, Louise Allred and Chris Damron. The school children all taking part. A Crowd of par-ents par-ents from Oasis and Deseret were in attendance and it was enjoyed by all. |
