Show Veterans Urged to File On Self-Employment G. I.'s intending to file for self-employment self-employment benefits are urged to file immediately after the first of each month. The law in the State of Utah, governing payment of G. I. self-employment claims, makes it mandatory that the veterans file for his monthly benefits between the 1st ana 20th of the month paid. For example given: Claims to be filed for the month of March must be filed between April 1st and A-pril A-pril 20th for the benefit to be paid. Sgt. Walter Eldon Rowley wrote to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Rowley on March 8 that he was in a hospital in Japan with an ab-cess, ab-cess, but getting along fine. Later La-ter he wrote that the abcess was healing, but that he was down with dysentery. His parents are awaiting further word. La Var Ellis, Slc, writes his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ellis, of Delta, Del-ta, that he is now on Oahu, at the navy training center, training for a yoeman. La Var had been in Japan some time previous to that, being among the first landing. Lt. and Mrs. Rex F. Daly are vising vis-ing in Delta this week, on their way to Washington, D. C, where Lt. Daly will resume the work he was in with the Department of Agriculture. Ag-riculture. He received his release from the navy in Seattle March 6. He served as supply officer on the U. S. S. Fanshaw Bay. David Poulson, F 1c. is home on a 10-day leave, with lrisi parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Poulson. He has been in Shanghai. Jay Chiistensen has resumed the work he was doing before he went in the service, and is again; at Mil-ford, Mil-ford, in charge of the fri-State lumber yard there. Mrs. Christensen Christen-sen and the children will join him there soon to make their home. June E. Johnson, Y2c RFD Delta, Utah, was honorably discharged from the navy at Shoemaker, Cal., on March 22. Zenas A. Boothe, ..Slc received his honorable discharge from the navy on March 20 at Shoemaker, Cal. Sgt. Ray Church, USMCR, .who has been in San Diego for several months, is home on a SO-day.fur-lough, with his parents, Mr. -and Mrs. George Church. |
