Show Stake Opera Set For Presentation in DHS this Week The opera, "Erminie," by Edward Ed-ward Jakobowski, with libretto by Clemson Bellamy and Harry Paul-Ion Paul-Ion and adapted by J. Spencer Cornwall and W. O. Robinson, will be presented this week by the Des-eret Des-eret stake under the direction of Larid H. Cropper. There will be three performances, performanc-es, all to be held at the Delta high school. It will be presented on Friday, March 29, and on Saturday, Satur-day, March 30 at 8 o'clock p. ni. General admission price 75c. There will be reserved seats sold. Students Stu-dents will be admitted to the night performance for 50c. At 2 p. m. on Friday, Mar. 29, will be a matinee mat-inee for students, admission price being 25c. There will be a cast of fifteen members, with a chorus of fifty, including peasants, soldiers, lords and ladies, supporting them. They will wear 18th century French costumes. cos-tumes. Twenty dancers, under the direction of Nedra Robinson, will add color and comedy to the evening's eve-ning's entertainment. Other personnel aiding Mr. Cropper Crop-per with the production include: stage manager, Layton Bishop; the prompters, Harriet Spendlove, and Nedra Robinson; costumes, Donna Sagers and Eldon Sorenson; stage ' and lighting, Dr. M. E. Bird and , Ted Harris, Jr.; and make-up Phyllis Talbot, Harriet Spendlove, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Adams. It was planned at first to have no reserved seats, but in response to a number of requests, reserved seats will be sold. General admission admis-sion will be 75c, and reserved seats will be $1.00. The whole middle section of seats in the DHS auditorium audi-torium have been set aside for the reserved section, and seats go on sale at the Service Drug Thursday Thurs-day morning. The purpose is the raising of funds for the stakehouse that is being planned. Piano accompaniment will be by May G. Cropper and violin accompaniment accom-paniment by Mrs. Norma Hannifin. |
