Show Man Injured Monday in Hunting Accident V ivt.-r Si.-,v;ii-t, of Hin-kl?y, was acM.h-hl.iy shot, through th h-g Monday while he and thn-; others .qV-vf-re lujnU'ig pheasants near Abra- ' "ham. I.eflrande Hlack, one of the hunters, hun-ters, had been sent, ahead to stop tin.1 pheasants from running down the dilrh. The oilier three hunters, ' Stewart, Ward f'et.-isen and Wayne ivteisen, were preparing to start the drive and Wayne jumped a ditch. Stewart handed him his gun so that he could jump the ditch easier and Wayne was only able to reach the stork. The gun tipped flown and as it tipped it went off hitting Stewart in the leg about two inches above the knee. The t-hai'ge ripped out a large part of the flesh of the leg and shattered the bone which will have to be wired in place before it can heal. Wayne ran back to the car a mile and a half away, leaving Ward wit h Peter. No cars passed during the time Wayne was gone so that Stewart lost a'lnt of blood. They then rushed him to the hospital hos-pital in Delta where he was treat- ed. Legrande Illack was so far a-head a-head of the hunters that ho did not know of the accident until the two men had returned from the hospital after taking Stewart there. Stewart was taken to the hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake City about 7 p. in. Monday evening, in the L. N. Nickle ambulance, and stood the trip well. Arrangements were made by telephone before they left Delta, Del-ta, and doctors were waiting to handle the ease. Reports back Tuesday were that Mr. Stewart was in good condition following the operation to "repair the leg, and would soon be able to come home, as good as new. |
