Show Garden Club Meets With Mrs. Walker "Listen you Delta Garden Club-ers!", Club-ers!", who did not attend club, Friday Fri-day evening. Did I say you missed a perfect lovely evening.1 Yes, and an eventful one, too! Mrs. Josie Walker and Fern Foote entertained at Mrs. Walker's home. First, Mrs. Walker explained how the silouette of "The Three Wise Men", was stenciled on her window, win-dow, offering patterns to all. After her instructions on winter bouquet making, we started working on sunflowers, cockleburs, cattails, goldenrods, milkweeds, grasses and various weeds; each using their own ingenuity. Mrs. Walker's biggest problem was to get us to quit so that she could serve lunch before midnight. All wanted to do just a little more. This was really fascinating and if you don't think we few got results, watch the Telluride Power Company's Comp-any's window for display of these flowers, this week. Marve should go in for some surplus sur-plus walkie-talkie sets so that he could go into action quicker than by plain voice. But if you know Marve, walkie-talkie sets would be surplus in the literal sense of the word with him, because when he , whispers the windows rattle in Oak City. Well, the big political race has come to an end and one group of candidates can rejoice in their victories, vic-tories, while the other group crawls off to lick its wounds. Sometimes I think I ought to run for office, but then I have a clean mind and I just couldn't think up those nasty things opposing candidates fling at one and another while stumping about the countryside. So, for the good of the vast populace that hangs on my every word, it is better bet-ter that I keep my mind clean, Toots. P. S. Salome Walch Seeley is now ready to relinquish "Old Faithful," and if there is anyone who needs it you can get in touch with me. No one will know about the deal, only those who can't read, Toots. |
