Mrs. Johnson was gowned in a black formal wns very charming lis were all the daughters, daughters-in-law, and grand daughters, all wearing formal gowns. The house was decorated with many spring flowers. Many friends called. In the evening at the ward house the following program wns given: "imrtelte Mrs. Minn Johnson, Mary i Johnson, Bert and Lester Johnson: musical reading by Mrs. Fffie John-I John-I son; cowboy song, by Wayne and ; l.eland Overson; piano duet, Chlorine Chlor-ine and Connie Johnson: recitation by Howard Johnson; monologue by Dick Wind; and a talk by Bishop Clead Nielson of Lynndyl. The program was followed by dancing. The children, Mr. and Mrs. William Will-iam Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Benson. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Williams, Will-iams, Mr. and Mrs. McEwen. nil of ''nst Los Angeles; Mr., and Mrs. Francis Burnhnm, of Idaho Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson of Lynndyl; Lynn-dyl; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Overson of siigarville. and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson John-son and Mr. and Mrs. Max Johnson of Sutherland were all present. The family spent the following aav in Oak Creek canyon. Well, the Abbotts are part of our news today. Mary Lynn went to California for a vacation; Mauley Abbott is just bursting with pride, vou would too, if you'd see the picture pic-ture of the English girl friend who will soon be on her way from England; Eng-land; Howard Abbott and son Myron My-ron of Provo nre making a visit here and are going on further on a fishing trip. Sometimes things happen sor of funny: Mrs. Hamilton of California is here visiting her sister, Mrs. ' Harrv Meinhardt and father and i brother, Art Hill, and darn if she didn't arrive when the folks could not buy a pound of meat not much different from California after aft-er all. Miss Ruth De I.app is county-demonstrator in Piute county and has gone there to begin her work. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bishop have taken their samll daughter to Salt Lake for medical treatment. Dewey Sanford will attend a funeral fun-eral of an aunt in Sevier county on Wednesday. Mrs. ulia La Cheminant of Eos Angeles who has been here a couple cou-ple of weeks taking care of her mother, Mrs. Thorton was joined on Tuesday by her husband, Mr. Wilford La Cheminant and two daughters, Joyce and Cleone. Mr. La Cheminant and the girls will visit relatives in Salt Lake ity before be-fore returning to California. Mr Thornton is recovering very nicely from her recent illness. The Sutherland garden club will meet with Mrs. Zola Bunker at 3-30 on Thursday. Anyone interested is invited. Mr. Poulson and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Poulson have been here visiting vis-iting Mr. and Mrs. Arch Poulson and family. Wendell Moulton is home now, i with his discharge from the navy. Lyman Moulton was called to Provo this week by the death of his sister, for whom funrela services serv-ices are being held on Thursday. Until next time, Jay Bea. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Perkins and baby, from Long Beach, California, arrived in Delta Monday, and are visiting their brothers here, Sher- man, Will and Lew Perkins, and famils. Mr. and Mrs. William Clark of ' Burbank, California, spent several days this week with Mr. and Mrs. " C. O. Warnick. Mrs. Clark is a niece of Mrs. Warnick, and also visited her cousin, Mrs. Norma Wright. Miss Beth Corbett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Corbett, is spending spend-ing the week at Skyline Conference Confer-ence Camp in Wyoming. Miss Corbett Cor-bett is one of the teachers at this annual Camp which trains our young people to be better citizens, Mrs. Betsy Skeem is home again, j after under going a major operation opera-tion in Salt Lake City. |
