Show Plan Centennial Celebrations for Utah's Birthday Milard County has been alloted ; by the state $5594 for the centen-5 centen-5 nial celebration, according to David Trevithick of Salt Lake City, who met Saturday at the Millard Coun-1 Coun-1 ty court house in Fillmore, with representatives from the various ' towns in the county to organize " and plan a Millard County Centen-' Centen-' nial committee. No repre j sentative from Delta was present, i The group decided to hold two . centennial celebrations in the , county during the year, one on the 5 east side at Fillmore on July 3, 4, , and 5, 1947, and one on the west t side at Hinckley or Deseret on Aug- ust 24 and 25, 1947. It has a rich back-1 back-1 ground of pioneer history to build a celebration around. The state will aid Millard County 1 as it does all counties, with the finance of the celebrations, with - street decorations, street lights of - all colors, sound equipment, state s events, vaudeville and novelty - shows. Prizes with the centennial -, seal may be used at these events. No history of the county has ben - written. Mr. Trevithick urged that this be done before next year. i Six committees will be chosen :, to aid this group with the centen- - nial plans. They will include a fin- - ance chirman, an arts chairman, a publicity chairman, a beautifica-3 beautifica-3 tion chairman, a history chairman y and a sports chairman.
