Show Plans Complete For Celebrating July 4 in Delta Delta will he hosts to West Millard Mil-lard on July 4 with a full day of aclivitv planned for those who come here. The day starts off at 6 a. m. with a salute, followed by a band serenade at various places in town.. The parade will be at It) :. m. and will travel up and down Clark sheet from the First ward to the overpass. The patriotic program at 10:30 is under the direction of the American Ameri-can Legion and will be held In the First ward hall. During the time the program is being given the children will be entertained on the high school lawn with games and sports. Two baseball games are scheduled, sched-uled, one at 3 p. m. with junior 'layers; and at 4 p. m. the eom-Unod eom-Unod teams of Delta and North Tract players will meet the combined com-bined teams of Hinckley and Des-eret. Des-eret. From 6 to 8 a junior dance will be held in the open air. The adult dance will also be held in the open air at 9:30. One of the highlights of the day will be the boxing bouts held in the big hall at 8 p. m. Five bouts and a battle royal will be held. The main event is between Don Ireland, 235, and Cordell Edwards, 180. These men met before at which time Ireland won. Fans have wanted a return bout and so it will be given them. Ike Anderson, 190, will fight Don Peterson, 180; LaMar Ross, 145 will meet Chad Rigby, 150; Ray Needham, 170 and Bob Ashbv will fight; Philo Searle, 145 and Robert Clark, 145 will also fight. The battle royal will be made up just prior 'to the evening's even-ing's entertainment. Reserved seats for the fight are on sale at the Gordon pool hall and the Rigby pool hall. The day's celebration is sponsored spon-sored by the Delta Volunteer Fire Department, with Dick Wind as the chairman. |
