Show Fillmore Stages 3- Day Race Meet On July 3A.&5 The spirit of festivity is all ready, in the air at Fillmore. Two big races paying a purse for each race of $600.00. One of these races will be known as the business Mens handicap and the other one will be known as the Govenors handicap, handi-cap, in honor of Govenor Maw, who will be present July 5th. There will also be one other very important import-ant race known as the Horse Show handicap paying a purse of $250.00. Each day will feature a big race. In addition to the handicap race each day there will be seven other fine races. This will be one of the finest Race Meets ever held in this state. The large purses that are being offered will attract the finest of horses in this entire area. With the help of Millard County and Fillmore City it hae been possible pos-sible to build in Fillmore, one of the very finest Grand Stands in this entire section. This Grand Stand will accomodate approximately approxim-ately 1500 people. It is modern in every sense. It Is provided with modern rest rooms for both men and ladies, a fine lounging room for jockeys, and space for several concessions. In addition to this stand is the old Grand Ssand that has been moved to the west and renoviated and built into bleachers so that ample seating space will be provided. The last day of the celebration is designated as Home Coming, and a parade of all veterans of both World War 1 and 11 will participate, partici-pate, there will be a big program in their honor, and a Barbecue at night. A demonstration of fire works is planned for the evening of the fourth. Sports for children are planned for each day and there will be a big dance at the end of each day. |
