Show Delta Offered AB-24Bomberas War Memorial This week Mayor Golden H. Black received word from Washington, D. C, that a B-24 bomber is available avail-able for Delta as a wer memorial if the city desires one. The bomber would be one that has war record of many missions over enemy territory. ter-ritory. The cost of the bomber would be $350.00 plus $267 ferrying charge by the army to fly the bomber to the Delta airport, a total of $617 delivered in Delta, i The bomber cost the government over $300,000 to construct. It has 4 motors with a speed of about 310 miles an hour. The wing span is 110 feet and it is 66 feet long: It has a ceiling of 30,000 feet. Mayor Black states that the City has no funds with which to purchase pur-chase the bomber. It has been suggested sug-gested that the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Lions club, Wildlife Wild-life club or some other organization organiza-tion raise the funds to purchase the bomber.
