Show Oasis Mr La Veda Bishop Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Styler and family from Bountiful spent the week end visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Val Styler celebrating Mother's Day. Mrs. Clara Talbot has been visiting vis-iting her children Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Skeem for the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop's family fam-ily were all home for Mother's Day dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lovell and family from Delta,. Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Bishop and family of Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. David Dav-id Bishop and son of Provo. Other guests were Lucy Jane and Dee Lovell of Lark, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. James C. Bishop are staying for the next week while James gets his grain planted before returning to Cedar City. Mr. Dean Webster of Cedar City visited Sunday and Monday with his sisters, Mrs. Venessa Skeem and Mrs. Cassie Johnson. The monument that is to be erected at the cemetery in honor of Vincent Blackburn and Nathan Roundy, who gave their lives for their country, will be started in the near future. Mr. Henry Hansen Han-sen of Delta will build it. Anyone wishing to bring some pretty rocks to put in this monument should do so immediately. When it is com pleted, fitting services will be held on the ground. Probably on Memorial Mem-orial Day. . A nice program was given to honor the mothers Sunday in Sunday Sun-day school. A token of love was presented to each mother present. Our "up and at it" Garden Club held a successful bazaar last Thursday evening. Mr. Ward Stan-worth Stan-worth was the lucky winner of the silk quilt. Other prizes were given away also. Hilda Gillen got a pair of pillow slips, Glen Anderson Ander-son got a sofa pillow and lone Christensen got a cake. The Club has purchased a new power lawn mower so they can keep the church yard trimmed in good style. |
