Show Score Tied 14-14 In League Game Delta vs. Millard BY LEON HUNSAKER Before a vast aray of shouting and sighing 'football fans, Delta and Millard teams wound up their annual battle Friday with a score tied at 14-14. Delta received the ball at the start of the game. Millard kicked it about 30 yards, and Delta ran the 30 yards back. Millard went over' for a touchdown this quarter, to make the score 7 to 0 in favor of Millard. During the second 'quarter both teams played good ball. There was no score during this quarter. The average put was about 45 yards. Scott Davis caught a pass during this quarter with one hand. Delta kicked of to start the second sec-ond half. Millard made a few yards but lost them on a 15-yard penalty penal-ty when they kicked on their fourth four-th down. Fullmer caught it and ran it over for Delta for Delta's first touchdown. He had excellent blocking for his run. Delta then got on a rally and went over for a touchdown on a pass from Snow to Christensen. Both conversions were good. So at the half the score was Delta 14, Millard 7. In the first of the last quarter Millard went over for a touchdown, touch-down, but it didn't count because they fouled a Delta player on the play. So in the last few minutes of play they went over for another TD and the conversion.... was good. This tied the score 14-14. Because this was a league game they couldn't decide by the yardage. yard-age. If these two teams don't lose a game they will meet again. |
