Show FIGURINES Day's Painting Draws Hundreds More than two hundred interested interest-ed women attended the classes held Monday in Delta for instruction instruct-ion on painting figurines. The day long session was a lyceum number num-ber in connection with the Aduit-Education Aduit-Education program. Mr and Mrs. Glen Hammond, or the Hammond studios in Salt Lake and an instructor from the studio demonstrated painting and decorating decor-ating the figurines from 10 a. m. untif after 8:30 p. m They were assisted by Mrs. Beth Mecham And erson, instructor of the home improvement im-provement and applied arts classes clas-ses in west Millard, and Mrs. Myr-tis Myr-tis Mecham Smith. In the forenoon classwork was held in the Delta First ward, where 14 large tables were surrounded by diligent painters, In the afternoon after-noon and evening classes were in Delta high school, with continuous attendance. Various types of figurines were painted, some for lampstands, and bookends, other purely decorative. Yards and yards of lace were used up-to form ruffles and trim, and thousands of tiny shells went into the flower arrangements. |
