Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Moody and son, Ronnie, from Salt Lake City, spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Axel Jensen. The Deseret Relief Society held their annual birthday party on ' St. Patrick's night. The Deseret ! Relief Society had been organized 73 years on Harch 17. A lovely program was presented and games and dances filled the rest of the evening. The men were invited and a delicious lunch was served with St. Patrick theme. Guests from Delta were Mr. and Mrs. June Black. A very good time was had by all. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Allred have bought the v Spencer Webb home and plan to mive into it as soon as remodeling is completed. The Blazer Class of the boys in the Deseret Primary entertained their mothers at the home of Ca-role Warnick in Delta. To the theme of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" they have made many wonderful plans as to decorations and entertainment. With the hall beautifully decor-ated in rainbow colors, their theme sung by Duane Stewart and a short floor show, the prom should turn out to be a most successful activity. The banquet began at 7:30 o'clock with Earl Greathouse as master of ceremon-ies The tables were beautifully decorated in St. Patrick's theme with bouquets of daffodils and pussy willows along the long ta- -' bles. Dinner was served to about eighty people and was followed by the program. A demonstration of a Relief Society work meeting was given by the husbands of the women of the society which held many a laugh. Also two songs were given by the Singing Fathers. The evening was topped by a unique auction sale with Phill Nielson as auctioneer. Stake visitors were Mr. 'and Mrs. Marvin Moody, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. June Black and Mrs. Artie Hen- - derson. Honorable mention is giv- - en Louis Overson and Lee Shipley i! . i for their readings. Everyone had a very good time. Kent and Bob Nielson were home with their families over the week-end. They returned to the A C in Logan Sunday. Our basketball fans who went to Salt Lake City for the tourna-ment were Roy Nielson and daugh ter Roberta, Earl Greathouse and daughter, Vona Lue, Bishop and Mrs Clekd Nielson, Ray Wilkins, Ivv J. Nielson, Dee Nielson, Lu-Je- Roper, Velda Sheriff, LaRae Greathouse, Merrill Nielson, Myr-tle and Molly Mills. Mr and Mrs. Irvin Whatcott al-so took in the tournament, and visited their children in Salt Lake before leaving Sunday for San Francisco, where they will visit relatives for a week. Mrs. Gene Dutson is here taking care of Mr. Henry Whatcott whiles they are aWMrs Nett Davis of Las Vegas is here with her niece, Mrs Ruth Nielson. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larson and Mrs. Josephine Sudbury drove down from Provo for Ruth's birthday. A family din-- I ner was had in the evening. The Larsons returned to rruvu d3Mrs Inez Wiley had her mother and sister visit her Thursday Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson were pleasantly surprised by having Mr. Theon Jepson ot Cedar City call to visit them. Frank Johnson was a visitor at the Lile Johnson home over the weeeknd. They spent Sunday in Provo. Mr and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen and Rex drove to Provo Friday afternoon and visited Mr. and Mrs. DeLong Banks. They returned Saturday evening bringing Miss Gladys Banks with them, who will have a day or two at home before registering for the spring quarter at the Y. Jim Smith was home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sheriff had as their guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Beer and children of Amer-ican Fork. Mrs. Sheriff and Mrs. Beer are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Larson of Salt Lake drove down Sunday to visit their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greathouse and to bring LaRae, who has been up state. Bruce Lovell, recently returned missionary, was the speaker at Sunday evening church services. He gave an interesting account of his mission and a large crowd attended. He was accompanied by his wife and Collier Lovell. Mrs. Leslie Haycock and little daughter, Carol are here from Salt Lake for a week visit with the Reed Nielson family. |
