Show Services Held For Wm. Davies Gunshot Victim Funeral services for William B. Davies, 60, Burbank resident for 25 years, were held Friday afternoon after-noon in Baker, Nevada. Mr. Davies died at his home in Burbank about noon Wednesday from an accidental gunshot wound. The accident occurred about 6 a.m. Wednesday when Mr. Davies was moving a .92 riflp whiVh nc- cidentally discharged. The bullet entered his skull. Dr. R. W. Freeman, Free-man, of Fillmore flying his plane arrived at the Davie home about 11 a.m., but was unable to save Mr. Davies' life. Mr. Davies was born in Fillmore Oct. 23, 1889, a son of Edward and Augusta Davies. He was married in 1917 at Garrison to Anna Smith. He was a well-known livestock raiser and rancher in the county. Surviving are his widow and four children, Arvilla Davies, Pasadena, Cal., Wilna Davies, Kanosh, Mrs. Ray Rowley and Lad die Davies of Garrison, and two grandsons. Also surviving Mr. Davies are the following brothers and sisters, Ed Davies, John Davies and Mrs. Rose Rogers, Fillmore; Mrs. Sadie Anderson, Manti; Elmer Davies, of Burbank; Mrs. Fontella Robison, Flowell and Mrs. Orvilla Loomis, Buckley, Wash. Merlin Terry, bishop of Baker ward, was in charge of the service, ser-vice, which opened at 2 p.m. Friends Fri-ends from far and near gathered to pay last respects to Mr. Davies coming from throughout Millard county, other parts of Utah and some from California. Speakers were Maurice Lambert, Fillmore, Wayne Gonder, Garrison and Bishop Bish-op Fred Harker, Ely. Burial was in the cemetery at Garrison under direction of the Olpin mortuary, Fillmore. |
