The bride was the for-mer Miss Edith Evans, of Salt Lake City. The young couple have been at Las Vegas since the wedding Their home in Delta wil be in the Killpack apartments. Fidelity Club Has Dinner Party Thursday evening members of the Fidelity Club entertained their husbands at dinner and Rook. A table was reserved at the Delta Third ward building fund party, and dinner served there. Later they adjourned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Johnson for Rook. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wright, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Starley, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon n, Mr. and Mrs. M. Ward Moody, Mrs. Hannah Larson, Mr. and. Mrs. Will Killpack, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Black, Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Bird and Mr.' and Mrs. Paul Adams. High scores at the Rook table were held by Mr. and Mrs. Wright, while Mr. and Mrs. Adams held low. The committee for the party were Mrs. Killpack, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Starley. Engagement Is Announced Mr. and Mrs. Paul Whicker, of Hinckley, announce the engage-ment of their daughter, Bonnie Rae to Walter Manis, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Manis. The young cou-ple will be married March 12, at the home of' the bride, and will go to California to make their home. Miss Georgia Cameron, who teaches school in Spanish Fork, and Miss Martha Adams, nursing at the LDS hospital, spent the weekend in Delta visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alec Adams. Mrs. Grant Seeley and sons, Al-len and David, from Salt Lake City visited in Delta last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Walch. Mrs. Seeley returned to Salt Lake Friday, and the boys are remain-ing for this week with their grand-parents. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Losee and two sons visited in Payson during the week. .Bridge Club Is Entertained The Saturday Bridge Club was entertained Saturday night, by Mrs Amelia Cole. 12 ladies attended, club members Vivian Holman, Mae Holman, Lois Hinckley, Wanda Beckwith, LaVonne Morrison, Ver-n- a Shepherd, Romania Bird and Etta Underhill, and guests, Mrs. Marianne Knox, Loa Black, Helen Baker and Rose Black. After din-ner bridge was played, and high scores went to Mrs. Beckwith and Mae Holman, and low to Mrs. Un-derhill. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mack re-turned to Provo Saturday evening after visiting relatives in Delta. Lloyd Is attending college and El-m- a is teaching school at the voca-tional school. Elder Sherman M. Little writes his parents,- Mr. and Mrs. Fera Little of Delta, that he will be home March 20. He has labored in the Western Canadian mission for 25 months, and will be released March 11. Elder Talbot Plays on Team A clipping from the sports col-umn of the Merced Sun-Sta- r, was received by Mrs. Daryl Talbot re-cently. Elder Talbot is enjoying his missionary labors and also his activities in the basketball games. He reports meeting many friends through the activities of basketball. The clipping states that the L D S Downed Mercedes, 34-3- in a game there. "Sparked by the of Daryl Talbot, the LDS team surged ahead in the first quarter and never allowed the Mer-cedes men to come within less than a couple of points of evening the score," states the California paper. Visit Denver For Car School Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sagers left Delta Monday driving to Denver, Colorado. Mr. Sagers, shop fore-man at Pace Motor Company, will attend a special school here for two days training of Oldsmobile mechanics. Oak City MAE H. SHIPLEY Sunday evening services consist-ed of a choir recital and history of the choir. The anthems and special numbers were enjoyed by all pres-ent. The M. I. A. Gold and Green bill 'is scheduled for the 18th of March. Miss Viola Talbot has been chosen queen for the evening. The Seventies of the Oak City ward had-- a potluck party Wednes-day evening at the home of Ellis Anderson. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Anderson and Mrs. Parley Roper. The evening was spent playing Rook. All reported enjoying the night. Mervin Alldredge visited his fam-ily this week. He is working at Provo. Grant and Gene Harris were home from the BYU last week. Mrs. Alice D. Anderson was call-ed to Beaver Wednesday by the sudden illness of her sister, Amelia Dean. Mrs. Erma Nielson is teach-ing for Mrs. Anderson until she returns. Mrs. Margaret Roper went to Salt Lake City to visit her husband Parley Roper, who is in the Veter-an's hospital. It is reported that his condition is not very good. Aparty was celebrated Sunday evening in honor of the birthdays of Carl Anderson and Mrs. Elva Finlinson. Those present were Mrs. Eliza Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Carl An-derson and Mr. and Mrs. Marian Anderson. Salt Lake visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Christian Anderson, Melvin Anderson, John Nielson, Delilah Jacobson, and Mr. and Mrs. Burnis Finlinson. Beaver visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Leland Roper, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stewart on Saturday and Sun-day. Mrs. Ann Jane Roper returned with them for a visit in Oak City, after spending the winter in Bea-ver with her daughter, Lydia Smith. Henry Roper from Caliente, was a visitor at the A. M. Roper home. He came for his father's birthday partq on February 22. Faye Jacobson from Washington, where he is stationed with the army, was called home on account of the illnes of his father, Irving Jacobson at the LDS hospital. He spent two days in Oak City. He reports his father still very ill. Another son, Raymond, is home from Denver to be near his father. Reva Skidmore reviewed the book "Clementine"' by Peggy Goodin, and it was well given and enjoyed by all. A delicious lunch-eon was served to the following members, Mary Bassett, Marjorie Gardner, Eleanor Skidmore, Maur-in- e Anderson, Rayda Rawlinson, Maurine Jeffery and Cora Harris. Special guests were Nellie Soren-se- n, Ora Gardner, Inez Moody, An-nie Leavitt, Mrs. Marion Pratt, Mrs. Clyde Underhill and Marilyn Snow Holt. Mrs. R. P. Adams is in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City, recover-ing from an operation on her knee. She will return to Delta Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Varlo Henrie and daughters, Lorraine and Jackie, left Delta Saturday on a trip into Ari-zona, California, and up the coast into Oregon. Mrs. S. S. Songer has as her guests theis week her sister and husband from Cornish, Utah, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gonzales. On their return they wil go to Smitthfield where Pete will be employed. Farewell Party Foe Navy Man A group of friends met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Steele Monday night in honor of their son, Arlo Steele, who was home on leave from the navy. Present were Reed Bunker, Beth Ogden, Carol Steele, Dorothy Corry, Virginia Henrie, Delia Johnson, Bettey Bunk-er, Marilyn Skidmore, Catherine Sanford, Cheryl Ogden, Bob. Jones, Blaine Jones, Edward Skidmore, Donald May, Wayne Thornton and Ted Largent. After an evening of games, refreshments were served. Then the party accompanied Arlo to the train. He returned to San Diego and expects sea duty soon.
