Show Saturday Meets Will Interest Local Gardeners Topics of interest to every gardener gar-dener in the community will be discussed Saturday at the regional convention sponsored by the Delta Garden Club. A meeting will be held in the Delta high school at 2 p.m. and again in the evening at 8 p. m. Everyone in the community com-munity interested in improving their gardens is invited to attend both meetings. State officers from the Utah associated as-sociated garden clubs will spend the day in Delta to assist with the discussion. At a preliminary meeting they will organize or reorganize re-organize garden groups where desired. de-sired. At the afternoon meeting, Emil Feulner will talk on chlorosis, a program of vital interest. Keith Boyer will discuss pest control, soils, and fertilizers, and show colored co-lored slides. There will be musical numbers. Roses and rose culture is a topic of C. R. Walker. Junior clubs, peony pe-ony culture and varieties will be told by Dorothea Newbold. The state visitors will visit the Rose Garden during the day. And a general invitation to everyone is extended by the Delta Garden club to visit the Rose Garden Saturday and Sunday. Members of the local club will meet there early Thursday Thurs-day to clean and prune the garden which is still blooming profuselv. in preparation for the inspection. Saturday night Milda Patten will talk on iris, a garden favorite, and its culture and propagation. The concluding talk will be on artistic ar-tistic flower arrangements by Fred Augsburger. |
