Show Hold Services Wednesday For Sarah Langston Mrs. Sarah T. Langston, 75, died Sunday at 3:50 p. m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nena T. Wil-kins, Wil-kins, in Lynndyl, where she has been il 11 for several months. Mrs. Langston was born Nov. 26, 1873, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, a daughter of William B. Alldredge and Sarah Molinda Jane Brock All-dredge. All-dredge. When she was four years old the family moved to Eerron, and later to Leamington. At the age of nine, she moved with her family fam-ily to Deseret, then to Hinckley in 1887. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mrs. Langston was active in the church. She was the first secretary in the Hinckliey ward Sunday school, and assistant secretary in the YLMIA. She was an active member in the Relief Society. She was married January 18,1890 to George Eli Talbot, Sr., in Fillmore, Fill-more, and later they received their temple endowments. Mr. Talbot died March 15, 1922. March 5, 1924, she was married to Jacob H. Langston in the Salt Lake temple. He died June 14, 1930. Mrs. Langston lived in Hinckley until January 1 of this year, when she moved to make her home in Lynndyl with Mrs. Wilkins. Her health had been poor during the past year. Surviving are a son, George E. Talbot, Hinckley, two daughters, Mrs. Cassie T. Allred of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Nena T. Wilkins of Lynndyl; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, W. I. Alldredge of Oak City. Funeral services were held in the Hinckley ward chapel Wednesday Wed-nesday at 10 a. m. by Walter E-kins. E-kins. An organ prelude by Mrs. Mae Cropper was followed by the opening song, "Abide with Me," by the Hinckley choir. The opening prayer was offered by Patriarch Charles R. Woodbury. Speakers were Mrs. Emma Spend love, Lafe Nielson and Walter Ekins, who paid tribute to the fine character of Mrs. Langston. Other music was a vocal solo, "Face to Face," by Ladd R. Cropper, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Cropper, an instrumental instru-mental duet, "End of a Perfect Day,"by Geo Whicker, trumpet and Ruth Talbot, organist, and "I Know My Heavenly Father Knows," by the choir. Closing prayer was given by Orlando Heworth. Burial was in the cemetery at Hinckley under direction of L. N. Nickle and Sons. The grave was dedicated by Nephi Stewart. |
