Thaln. J. O. Walters was selected ai temporary chairman and J. S.Perry as temporary secretary. Chairman Waltcis thanked the convention con-vention Tor the honor conferred and trusted that the best qualified and strongest men would be nominated regardless re-gardless of who they might be. This distiict should loll up a good majority ma-jority for tho lepubllcan ticket considering con-sidering the favorable conditions that exist. The call was lead and on motion the chair appointed James Williamson, William-son, Robert Murdock, William Hope, Andrew Funk, Daniel Marble and John Nebeker as a committee on credentials. cre-dentials. The nominee was escorted to the convention hall. In brief he said: "1 thank jou for the honor conferred 1 trust and 1 believe that the nomination nomina-tion will not be in vain. I hold that a Judge should enforce the laws laid down by the Legislature, and when mattcisaic left, to the discretion or the court, he should decide regardless ol the popularity that such decision would bring.
