Show Richmond Riplets A condensed milk factory for Richmond: Rich-mond: Monday evening tho citizens of Richmond met In a "Farmers Meeting" Meet-ing" to discuss the advisability of offering Inducements for a Condensed Milk Factory. Considerable enthusiasm enthu-siasm was manifested and all present felt that wc should put forth an effort to gctthat Industry established here. Mr. O. 'A. Harris said that Mr. 5 Rackllff from Pcnnsylvlna visited I Richmond and Lcwlston last week 9 and stated that he considered Rich- mond and surrounding country one of R the best places In tho U. S. for a fac- tory. Mr. Harris spent two days with 6 Mr. Racklill In visiting tho farmers in j tills locality. AVhllo visiting, Mr Rackllff stated that he was very much I" surprised to llnd so many cows hero and after carefully Inspecting them said that ho found as goqd a stock of milch cows as could bo found in any part of Utah and tho only lesson tho S farmers would havo to learn Is to take better care of their stock. Mr. Harris S and S. W. Hendricks held an after-3 after-3 noon meeting In Lcwlston Monday $ and It was the unanimous sentiment of the meeting that a man should be sent Kast to Investigate Unprofitableness Unprofitable-ness of this industry. Tho same feeling feel-ing prevailed at the meeting held here and O. 'A. Harris v. as appointed to go and was given tho privilege of selecting select-ing another man to accompany him. They expect to leave as soon as they hear from Mr. Rackllff, whotclcgraph-cd whotclcgraph-cd that he would advlso them as soon as he arrived home. Tho Investigation Investiga-tion will be awaited with Interest. If the assurance can bo given that the Industry will be a profitable business a company will bo organized and tho capital subscribed. Mr. A. R. Harrison who has been running a railroad outfit In Mexico for the past two years came homo last week. Ho expects to spend sometime with his old friends and acquautinccs before returning. The annual reunion of the Relief Society was held March tho nth. An excellent program was carried out, after which a lino supper was served. Alfred Chrlstcnsen leaves this morning morn-ing for Oregon, where he has secured a position as clerk In a raihoad office. Mrs. Elijah Spaekmon presented her husband with a 21 lb. boy last week. Although the youngster Is a little below tho average weight, ho is hale and hearty and will some day become be-come a man. Miss Mary Young of Salt Lake spent last week with her friend, Miss Mabel Rullcu. Messrs. S. W. llendrlck and E. R. Tripp aro each going to build a lino brick home this coming season. Ayu. |
