Show "Corlanton" at Home. Yesterday morning's "Tribune' announces the return to Salt Lako of tho "Corlanton" companj', which came in directly from San Francisco. This was an unexpected move on tho part of the managers, and is said to be tho icsult of Mr. Thatcher's falluro to make a booking in Portland, Oregon. Tho company has appeared only at llrst-class theatres, and it being impossible im-possible to get Into tho leading theater there at tho time, it was deemed advisable to lcturn home. The statement is made that the company com-pany has not disbanded, but will play In Logan for a week at tho end of this month, and return to Salt Lako for conference week. In its recent trip, tho company presented "Corlanton" "Corlan-ton" In Wjomlng, Idaho, Montana, Washington and California, It being well received, and was treated very kindly by tho press. Mr. George Thatcher has had control slnco Feb. 0th and feels fairly well satisfied with tho trip, although It has not been a great success financially. In some of tho largercitlcs, heavy counter atti actions, ac-tions, such as Gillette and Mascagnl, added to tho difficulties, and another discouraging feature was tho Lenten season. Just what Is to be the final disposition of tho company Is not stated. |
